Default Turbo air filter??

How many guys don't run an air filter (street or strip car) ??
I'm building my setup right now, with the turbo in the center of the nose of the car, with air inlet cut into the nose cone of the car. and the turbo impeller is fully exposed(NO air filter!)
I'm a little nervious, anyone had any problems yet?

Thanks,
Scott

what i would do....
Measure inlet on turbo, get a piece of silicon @ that diamiter about 1 inch wide. Go to home depot. Get some metal mesh that is the smallest holes you can find. Get a tbolt clamp for what ever size silicon you get. Put mesh on, put silicon over mesh to hold it in place, and tbolt it. Gives it a nice look, you can get the silicon in what ever size and color you need, and should work pretty good. I would try to avoid lots of dust, but tons of people run cars without air filters on the turbo, even though most suggest not doing it.

good luck, Chris

Is it a daily driver?..............I wouldnt rec even a mesh on the track....Its just to much to risk...A buddy of mind sucked up debris pebbles etc and ruined a turbo....

Spend $25 and buy a foam mushroom filter (hks style)
Here are some p/n's on ebay
150213365459,,,,230221029919,,,,
This one comes with 2 filters and a split y pipe and clamps 2 run 2 filters<160205517650>

And actually most autozones, advance, oreilly, napa stock these things!!!!

You spent this much money on your investment.....Dont cheap out now!!!!
