D1 with stock (241) heads?
i have a 2002 TA M6. I am looking for 500 to 550 rwhp. Can i attain that with stock heads (241) by just doing a custom grind cam with the D1 and other upgrades of course (fuel pump, injectors etc). How much more power (ball park) will i have, if say, i went with the patriot lq9 (lower compression) heads? I guess what i am saying is should i keep the stock heads and use that money i saved from buying new heads and put towards a future ford 9"? CUZ u know eventually that 10 bolt is gonna EXPLODE!! Yes the bottom end is still stock. thanks guys

To give you some kind of figure.. I have a D1SC twin INtercooled kit- 7.9 pounds of boost- very conservative.. Stock 241 heads (01 Ss camaro m6. Have fuel backup secondary (good for 800hp) cam, lifters, rods. Stock intake, stock t/b, stock bottom end. Have a 12 bolt moser, with 4.10, and odds n ends for suspension.. car made 543rwhp- stock bottom end- has about 6k miles on it- works well..
just my advise- and who knows you might take it.. On a conservative tune, you should be just fine with stock bottom end. Stock heads flow great! Yes, there are other heads out there that are 1500-2500 dollars a set, but why? I would use, like you said- the money in other areas! Rearend, spohn stuff, clutch, fuel, wilwood brakes.. etc.. (this is just what i would do) Also- a set of patriot lq9's- not the best head- and might, just might give you close to 600 rwhp.. Your gain from a stock head to those will be about 30-45rwhp.. Id rather spend it on a rearend, and save yourself some stress in the end..
Hope all is well- n everything works out!

Here is a list of items that I put together to create a very quick car, and I agree, keep your stock heads and put the money towards a rear.
