Default fuel pressure?

my buddy has a 01 tahoe with the 5.3. he says it starts up fine if it sits over night but if its been running and you shut it off and let it sit for about half and hour it dose not like to crank back up.The fuel pressure goes straight to 60psi when you turn the key on but falls quickly if you shut it off. When its running it sits at 55 psi. Im not completely sure but thought it should maintain fuel pressure for a little bit once shut off or at least fall slowly. Not even sure if this would effect the truck cranking or not, any advice would be helpful.

Maybe a fuel injector is leaking flooding the engine. Not sure what you mean by it does not like to crank up. Does this mean start or turn over?? If the engine isn't turning ie cranking over then you have another issue nothing to do with fuel.

you could have a injector leaking like said above and as for the starting problem has he replaced the fuel filter within the last 2 years or so if not that seems to happen alot on the 5.3 and 4.8's and so one. very comon problem. i would replace the filter for the starting problem
