Default Fuel cell tech..

Are they designed to take an impact? if placed in the back and rear ended by some dumb blond teenager girl to busy texting, and I know there is always a chance of an explosion or fire, but would the fuel cell crumple? I'm thinking about removing the stock fuel tank and tucking the turbo up in its place, cutting out the "trunk" so to speak and putting in a fuel cell. no work will be done anytime soon. I just want to learn as much as I can before doing anything when the time comes

Take a look at some of the circle track cells. They have beefy outter shells with bladders inside.
