Just dropped my tank today. I'm building a carb setup and need even less than you do. Anyway I'm not even sure you need to put that breather there. There is already that little hose that came over the side that I'm assuming is the factory breather tube. I don't see why you couldn't plug that port of and be fine. I could be completely wrong though ha.

When i did the evap delete on my 97 i left part of the line coming out of the tank there that went to the evap but put a sock filter over it to keep anything out of the line and so there was still a relief there if it was needed. From what i read you still need that line so the tank can vent but what i read could be wrong and you could just plug it.

it clicks immediatly as soon as i squeeze.... if i let the gas just barely trickle outta the pump into the tank it does work. but it took me 10 minutes to get 5 gallons in this morning, and when i tried to fill it with my portable gas can it spilled gas everywhere as it too would only let the gas in very very slowly. I will try to pop the breather off and see if that fixes it.
