I know you have to get the quick disconnect tool, but there is also a clear piece of plastic in them as well. Before I head to auto parts store, I thought I would ask the question what I need and how to disconnect these lines near the gas tank. Thanks in advance.

The plastic part is where you disconnect them with the tool-they serce kind of as a "clip", just slide the tool in there and pop them out

squeeze the tabs together with your fingers and pull the quick disconnect off.
