How to tell if fuel pump is bad.
So basically my car won't start. It cranks fine, battery is fine, and everything checks out. What I'd like to know is how to check if the fuel pump is bad. What I did was put a little fuel in the TB and try to start it. the car started like normal and then died a few seconds later. I also replaced the fuel pump relays and and checked all fuses and they're all ok.
I can't hear the fuel pump prime when I open the key and there aren't any codes to go off of.
I've started the trap door mod but what I don't want to happen is I go through and replace the fuel pump and find out it's an electrical issue.
Is there any other info you need me to provide? It's a 2000 Trans Am and it has bolt ons and a smog cam. Nothing crazy.

you need to check system pressure and if proper voltage is getting to the pump.
Here are some helpful videos concerning fuel pump diagnosis:

Concerning checking voltage on the Delphi 2x2 connectors, be careful not to damage the connector or you will have all kinds of problems in the future.
Check out this video, it should be a sticky:

Awesome, that's exactly what I needed. Thank you. If worst comes to worst, I'll have to replace the entire fuel pump assembly. Is there any way I could just replace the fuel pump and not the entire thing. I don't really want to spend 375 for the assembly if I don't need to.

You can get the entire sender assembly from Amazon for $207, Delphi p/n FG0154 for 2000 TA with 5.7L.
http://www.amazon.com/Delphi-FG0154-...0865932&sr=8-1
This also includes the jumper that you can splice in to switch over to the more robust 1x4 econnector. This is the EXACT same sender assembly that you would buy from any of the big retail places for $350+. Much better option than just a pump swap only.
