Default What happened to my gas tank?

I just drained the gas out of my tank. It had been sitting in the car for 3 years. The car hadn't run in that long. But I didn't expect to find this. What do you think?

Should have used a preservative in the fuel. I'd look for a new tank, seriuosly doubt you could clean that properly.

Time for a new fuel system. Tank, lines, injectors, regulator, all of it. If its not stainless, old gas will do that to it alarmingly quick

Thats corrosion plain and simple and theres no cleaning it, much like trying to wash off a rust hole in a fender. If you try to reuse any of the old fuel system the car will be plagued with clogged filters, injectors and stuck regulators as bit of the rust will break loose over time and wreak havoc on everything

Having a car sit for an extended period of time is very hard on it as you can see
