Need schooling on a stock '99 fuel system.
Can someone tell me exactly how the fuel system works on a '99 LS1.
I still have the stock system on my car. I know it's a returnless system, but what are all the components and what do they do?
From what I see, the supply line goes to a tee fitting, by the drivers back tire, then one line goes back to the tank itself and the other line goes through
the fuel filter to the fuel rail.
Is that line that goes back to the tank a return line?
Is there a regulator in the tank and how does it work?
I have been told by acouple of shops that I have 61 psi at the fuel rail.
I think that a stock system has 58 psi. I bought the car used, 10 years ago and I don't know if the previous owner did a upgrade to the pump or not.
It had a MTI 382 in it when I bought it. So MTI might have upgraded the pump. I'm going to cut an excess hole and pull the pump soon.
Thanks
