Default 4.8 surging 40-60mph after warming up

Hey not sure this is even the right forum. Posted it on silverado forum and no answer so opted for a more tech nased forum. Got a 2002 silverado 4.8 recently developed a problem where around 40 it will surge between 1-17 hundred rpm. As if someone was pushing pedal in and out. Any ideas? I can gas it out meaning give it a little more gas and it will stop. Only code is transmission slipping cleared 100 miles ago and has not returned. Transmission does not seem to slip, also after warming up it hardshifts a little but not bad at all. Thank you

Yep. Never done it going slow. Noticed that today going up a steep driveway. Plenty of torque at same rpm range and no stutter.
