Question Fuel pump issues 2nd time around. lots of $$$$ down the drain.

Short version
427 CI Actual LSX block.
Trickflow heads
Fast intake
102 MM throttle body
60# injectors
in-tank Granatelli fuel pump http://www.summitracing.com/parts/gr...model/firebird

on the Dyno @ 5k rpm and only making 500 hp to the wheels the fuel pressure drops like a ton of bricks.
This sucks as they didn't even get to tune or test the N2O which is set to 200 hp.
The owner is being pushed towards a intank $1000.00 Squashperformance dual walbro 450s.

What do you think about this ?

Where should the next fuel pump upgrade end up?

Are you checking voltage for your pumps throughout the run? Did you upgrade the wiring for that pump? Might be losing power at the top of the run and zapping pressure

The data logs are Mia from the builders end and the tuners end. I am not sure if they are with holding the information or they didn't log it.

BUT the car supposedly got a hot wire kit for the fuel pump.

What are they using for a pressure regulator?? If the pump has the hot wire kit it shouldn't be a voltage problem.

There is zero need for a dual pump setup on an NA/gasoline build like this. A good 340lph pump is ~300lph at GM fuel pressure. On gasoline that
That's over 900bhp of fuel NA.

Possible problems:
a) Not enough voltage (but you have a hotwire kit).
b) Less than optimal pump (I've never seen for data for that pump). Or bad pump.
c) Fuel regulator issues. What regulator and where is it?
d) Fuel pickup issues. Still using a fuel bucket?

Quick Reply: Fuel pump issues 2nd time around. lots of $$$$ down the drain.
