Default Summit E85 Fuel Lines?

Anyone here use the Summit E85 Fuel lines with no problems? My alternative option was to use Redhorse E85 hose that is sold locally, but its $8/ft(-8AN) and I am thinking I may need around 25ft. Thats a lot of money. Lol

Yes e85 dries out and eats most rubber lines.

I use their lines for nitrous wet shot fuel supply and as a fuel rail cross over with no issues on E85. As long as they are teflon (PTFE) lined then you can use it without problem. Also, since they are lined, they don't stink the garage up like gas.

Thanks guys for the input. My thought too was that as long as they were teflon lined they should be fine. With my fuel fittings alone cost over $200(All Redhorse brand), if I could save a few bucks I could. I didnt expect the lines and fittings to be so expensive.........

Whoa, gotta make sure your fittings are compatible with Summit line. The PTFE thickness and actual OD can vary between MFGs so you sometimes have to run matched line/fittings. If you have to run Summit fittings they are also quite a bit cheaper but the anodizing doesn't look quite as nice, the black in particular.

I would seriously doubt they are compatible. I know I purchased some Summit AN hose and any other fitting besides the cheap Summit fittings wouldn't work.

Do research of the Summit line of fittings. You might save a dollar up front, but the threads might get fubared and you end up purchasing twice.

Summit will allow you to return the hose more then likely. General rule of thumb... stay with all the same manufacturer when assembling AN hose/fittings.

Tried this junk on a recent project...JUNK. We're local to Summit, so we took it back, got Fragola, and had no issues.
The sales guy at Summit had no problem w/ us doing the swap...Had he seen that before??

Thanks guys for the help. I think I am just going to go Red Horse all the way and get both their fittings and E85 line. I hate to spend that much on fittings, but I will feel better that everything is for sure a tight fit!

You can get the Fragola PTFE hose on Amazon for $5.79/ft for 15 feet of -8. The Fragola fittings are a little cheaper than Summit also. Check the Vibrant brand stuff on Summit for all of your non-hose fittings like Y-blocks and ORB stuff. They are quite a bit cheaper than Fragola.

I have been using the Summit E85 hose and so far no issues. Not the teflon stuff. Its only been on the car for about 6 months but the inside of my rails were spotless.

I have had good luck with Summit fittings. Sounds like the teflon stuff is problematic but the standard Summit AN fitting are very likely private label Fragola or Earls.
