Default E85 Turbo Fuel

Looking for reccomendations for a fuel setup. SBE LS1 w/317's. BTR Stage II turbo cam, PT76/75, 80lbs deka's. Looking to take advantage of the discount's out now. I was going to buy the DIY racetronix kit minus the fuel pumps and add in the AEM E85 pumps.I was going to piece it out but im afraid im going to end up forgeting something when I order from them like a connector. I know about squash and lonnies... I'm capable of doing the work myself though. Just want reccommendations.

I would just go with the Racetronix pumps. I spoke with them regarding their pumps and using them with E85. They said "reduced life" with E85, but it is because there is less lubricity to E85, and almost all pumps will experience about a 20% reduced life span on E85, vs normal petro. They are just too honest about it. They told me the only pump that will run as long on E85 as gasoline is the Walbro 450, because of the bell on the bottom of it. I think the Racetronix pumps are the same exact pump as the AEM E85, and the Aeromotive 340 pumps. Just my 2 cents. One stop shopping, and it costs less.

Default Fuel Pump Design

I design/manufacture fuel pumps.

The E-85/E95 pump IS different though the same features work well for Benzine.

I seal the complete armature in Epoxy then the armature balance occurs.
The brushes are a different material AND 2X the size of a 1001 AERO.
The armature has a smooth surface that allows for 1/2 current draw a 1001.

Years ago I dissected a failed AERO pump, I was VERY surprised.

I would ask for the Armature picture of the chosen pump.

Lance, which aftermarket E85 pump would you suggest people to run?

Default Flex Fuel Conversion

So some of these comments don't really address flex fuel components needed conversions new mapping ECT .. or any suggestion to start with an EC or tune that already has a Flex Fuel Map such as an L-94 engine from a Tahoe or Escalade nor do they make a parts list of the components you need such as an actual alcohol content Censor wiring needed ect..

So I used Google and found a Conversion Kit right off the Bat for $2,100.00 Whoopie I see the Flex fuel kit alone is less $375.00 plus it tells you what you have to do to tune the ECM after install

I have heard 450's mentioned before never worked with LS Engines before it's all new to me .. I know 450's are a certain brand ..

https://fitechefi.com/products/40108/ Fi Tech makes complete fuel systems

https://fitechefi.com/video/hyperfue...-installation/

Holley has an inline fuel pump that goes in the stock sending unit and fuel line hole .. Does not need a return line from engine .. and uses a 30 micron sock for a pickup .. I see most of them use a sock filter..

Oh are Walbro a Carburetor ? I gave up on the Rockchester Quadrajunk in about 1980 and always used Holley since then .. This LS Swap will be my first non stock grocery car with fuel injection ..

I see it's a brand of fuel pump for French cars like Dodge /Renault The beggars who got a Tax Payer bail out along with GM .. Also Tesla got $14 billion stolen from Tax Payers..
http://walbrofuelpumps.com/

This one is Universal in tank E-84 compatible
http://walbrofuelpumps.com/450lph-wa...f90000267.html

Their Web site is not very informative .. I did have a 1999 Town and Country they cover that model works with E-85 and is good for up to 700 HP only problem if you put the pedal to the metal in a stock 3.8 Town and Country you will blow up the tranny .. they had card board in the torque convers.. I paid $1,800 for mine from a friend who had recently spent $2,200 getting the trans rebuilt .. I had like 180,000 miles on it still ran good when it rusted out .. and I sold it to a looser who still owes me $1,400.00

Yes I looked on Google .. they make a lot of OEM Pumps they have high performance pumps but don't seem to sell the kits you need for mounting and suction filter ect. There are a couple of Brands that make an in tank pump that comes with a mounting system that can be put in the stock location that my fuel lines and fuel level sending unit are mounted now say on my '79 Camaro for example Holley .. I would guess that Holley gets their build in China.. The Walbro looks to be better quality and higher technolgy .. I seem some are rated for E-85 .. Looks like maybe Walbro is new to the aftermarket ..

Default Stainless Steel Fuel lines

I see some of the builders recommencement stainless steel lines.... I would agree with that I bought a bunch of Aluminum Line 1/2" 40 years ago and I still have it ..

They say the Rubber and even the braided stainless Teflon does not hold up well to E-85.. Maybe that is not true for Teflon .. Maybe it's just Methanol that destroys it ..

I use CHEAP summit Push Lock line with E85 and I've never had an issue, even with the car sitting for months at a time.

Some one said on here that you need to replace rubber or even Teflon line every 3 years ???? I have ran E-10 in every thing I own for years .. Actually that's pretty much the only thing you can buy in the USA Ethanol has diluted gasoline to the point that it makes it 40 cents per gallon cheaper.. then can get more low grade gasoline out of a barrel of oil and increase the octane with 10% Ethanol ..
