Um...Yikes?
Gents,
I pulled my failed stock pump out of the fuel tank. The insulation on the pump wires had actually melted and shorted the wires. However, that's not what concerns me. The filter sock on the bucket (not the pump) seems to have something hard and crunchy in it. This doesn't seem to be the preferred condition, but it's the first time I've taken one of these out. Has anyone had the same experience? Also, that sock does not seem easily detachable or replaceable. It looks like I'd have to replace the whole bucket if there's some kind of debris captured in the sock. Has anyone replaced the bucket sock only?

Hmmm...am I the first to experience this problem? Seems odd.
Anyway, I found the number for the bucket sock. It's an AC Delco part number TS90, in case anyone is interested.
