Default dropping the tank

I need to change out my fuel pump, and in order to do that, it involves dropping the exhaust, tank, and rear axle. Also involves removing the hind quarter panel, according to the chilton's manual. Has anyone else had to do this? If so, do you have any tips before I jump into this? Thanks

it would be a lot easier if you cut a hole in the top inside the hatch under the carpet to access it.

I will drop everything as I have to change my tank anyway, but while it is out I am thinking of cutting the hole (in case I have to ever get back in there) and putting an access panel as I saw on a thread about a year ago. Makes it nice and clean.

On my car All I had to move was the PHR's. Of course my exhaust is dumped at the axle. You shouldn't have to move the rear end or any body panels.

The rear-end does not have to be removed to drop the gas tank. Just have the car up on a lift, or on tall jack stands. The rear-end just needs to hang down by the shocks, and once the cat back exhaust system is removed, and the tank straps unbolted, the fuel tank will slide out with a little encouragement. Bob
