Default does something look wrong with this fuel pump install

I had the fuel pump put in last year at a local shop.
ever since then if it was below half tank it would not pick up fuel on launch.
I noticed a crimp in what I believe is the return line where it was stuck between the frame and the tank. also the line was off of it inside the tank, I believe the return line.
here are the pics, scroll down some and you will see them.

Thumbs down Holy cow!

Damn! What a mess! The return fuel is sprayed on the intake sock. That should make for poor fuel delivery.
Putting return fuel right back into the pump allows for entrapped air to be put into the system. It also allows for heated fuel to be picked up.
Ideally, the return should be under the surface of the fuel, and as far away from the pump inlet as possible...

Don't know who did that install, but I'd surely not go back for another round...
