Default mixing octanes

I'm in Cali and can only get 91 at the pump, I can get some sunoco 104 unleaded but don't know the formula for mixing. Would a 50/50 mix make it 97.5 octane? I just want to get it to about 93 octane since I have knock problems and I don't want to mix with xylene or whatever.

thanks for any help

Yeah just average them, so if you put in equal parts of each, you will be right in the middle of the two octanes.

so if I add 3gal of 104 to 14gal of 91 (3+14=17) I would have 93.29 octane gas, yeah?

or did I screw that all up?

I do it all of the time due to 11.5 compression. I add 5 gal of race fuel at home, then 5 gal of pump gas the next time I drive by the gas station.
