Default Fuel line size/upgrade question

My fuel cell has 2 -8 outputs but I really need 1 -12. Should I just take the two -8 into a Y block to one -12 or should I remove one of the -8s and install a -12? My other fuel cell has 2 -8s but I only need a -6.

cell is poly, I use a "Unibit" to enlarge the hole to -12 bulkhead size, and cap the other 1 off.
If the fitting is designed as a "pickup" fitting, it'll have the inlet side made w/ a nice radius, for better flow. If not, I put it in a lathe, and add the radius.
I use a nylon seal/washer on both sides of the fitting...
On the other cell, I'd remove 1 fitting, and replace it with a -6 bulkhead, made from an "adapter" bulkhead.[-8 to -6]. This may require some lathe work, but is easily done, in just a few minutes.

Now, if the cells are metal.. Another deal, all together
