ls6 fuel pump problems?

ls6 fuel pump problems? I have a 1998 camaro with an LS6 crate engine and when i bought it about 2 months ago, the guy said that he put a new fuel pump in when he changed the rearend to a 3.73. Yesterday when I started the car, it was chuging out, until my friend hit the bottom of the gas tank. it's running now but it continues to bog down. do you have any ideas on what to do to fix it or any ideas on what kind of proformace fuel pump i should purchase?
