Default Fuel Gauge Problem... or Not?

94 firebird v6 original
96 lt1 w/ t56 & pcm from camaro ss.

Still have the v6 cluster, and the fuel gauge is pinned past full. I did a search but it seemed like there was no defined answer. Well... for my issue atleast.

Anyways, I checked the ground, but I was talking to some old hot rod guys and they said the gauge would read Empty if it was a ground issue. Then they said that it would be a hot/power issue. Another guy said something may be shorted, and/or disconnected..

What should I do? This is my first lt1 and I've unfortunitly learned about the dreaded optispark the hard way. I just want to get this resolved, instead of filling my tank after 125miles of driving...

edit: I guess I should of asked what set of 20's would look SIQQQQ on my car to get some views..... sad.

not really sure but your sending unit inside the tank could be bad or the float could be stuck in the full up position.

Thanks for the reply's guys.

I'll check the sending unit tomorrow when I have access to a lift.
I might pull the dash right now and test my power leads... Couldn't hurt to check... Just in case.
