Default good way to test pump????

I believe my fuel pump is bad.....changed relays and not getting fuel to the injectors. I pulled the fuel filter without replacing and turned the key.....shouldn't gas come out of the line with the pump is primed? If not would that be a confirmed bad full pump? TIA

When my 1998 Formula's fuel pump went bad I checked for flow at the end of fuel rail by removing cap and depressing valve (nothing, no flow).

Your method will work also.

By the way... running around town with 1/4 tank of gas or less will burn up a fuel pump.

Actually the car has been down for about 2 years and I just rebuilt the motor. It was working before I pulled the motor. I checked the fuel rails, pulled injectors, checked fuses, and so on. I have a new pump that should be here today so hopeful she will come alive soon.
