Exclamation Diff. fluid change questions

  1. Can I use 85/140 Lucas differential oil in a stock zexel torsen rear end?
  2. How much limited slip additive do I add (I have a generic 7oz posi additive), and when during the fluid change process do I add it?
  3. Do I have to remove the rear cover or can I siphon out the old fluid using a hand pump? Would you guys recommend that?

My car came with 3.42s with a torsen posi unit and the fluid hasn't been changed in at least 30k miles (if ever). The car has 118k on it now.

If you guys could help out, that'd be great - I'd like to get this done today...

Lucas will work fine and no you do not need an additive and you need to take off the cover and drain it out. There is another thread concerning this subject tonight. Take a look at that because it some more info that is on concerning your question.

Well his question was different than mine... I am going to be including the additive anyways - just wanted to know how much to put in. I wanted to know if any brand 85/140 is alright to use - I just have two bottles of Lucas 85/140 and was wondering if I should use 'em or buy something else. Thanks for the info about the cover.

That one bottle of additive is all you need.
