Default Spool ?'s

Im in the process of buying a spool. Just curious how many of you run the aluminum spool (5lbs) over the steal spool (9.5lbs). How big of a differnce would this be because it it rotating mass correct ? If it helps the car will be close to 2900-3000 lbs

One of the guy's at Moser told me they do not recommend the aluminum spool for street use. We've generally sold our customers the steel spool as most of these cars see at least some street use. Bob

Your car will be too heavy for an aluminum spool. Another alternative might be a star flanged steel spool. Removing material from a steel spool will still leave you with a much stronger set-up. If you would like, ask Ed Wright about his experience with an aluminum spool. IMO not worth the risk.
