Broken Rear End ??
What does a broken Rear-End sound and act like?
Just a couple hours ago, driving normally, I got an ugly sounding rotational clattering in my drive-line / rear-end. Happened 2 blocks from home so I limped home, got back end up in the air, nothing had fallen off or appeared from the outside to be broken. Took off rear tires, ran at low rpm in drive and it sounds like a clicking from axle or rear-end. Put tires back on, went for a test drive.... gears seem to engage fine, at a 5 mph roll, will travel 15 yards or so and drive train just stops for about 5 yards (almost like brakes locked up), will roll another 15 yards and repeats jerky stop......
I have been forwarned my stock rear-end will be a problem waiting to happen putting down 430 rwhp .... I am wondering if my luck just ran out???
I see my sig isnt functionong.... 2002 Camaro 35LE SS, A4

Take off the cover and see if any fragments fall out.
And shine a light in and look at the pinion gear. If you find nothing that way, start removing parts, you'll eventually get to something broken.

Sounds like the same thing that happened to me around Thanksgiving... Eventually I forced it to move under engine power and blew a hole in the cover here are some pics. The bolts sheered off the gear set! Now I have a S60.
