Series 2 torsen in a series 3 carrier??
I am currently running a series 3 differential from a 98 LS1 in my car. The previous owner put over 144,000 miles on this rear with an m6 and beat the **** out of it, the auburn unit is making some funny noises at low speeds.
I have a perfectly good torsen with 3.73s from my totaled 2001 but its a series 2. I want to use it and the gears in my car. I know the gears alone will not fit, but will they work if I use the torsen?

Yes they absolutely will. The housing is the same size. As long as the gears stay with the right posi, it can be interchanged into any 7.5 10 bolt rear end.
