Default rear question

If my 99 TA 10 bolt is currently 4 channel with tcs and abs do i HAVE to replace it with a 4 channel or can i do a 3 channel for just abs and not use the tcs?

I have no need for the tcs but i do like having the abs so if i happen to come across a good deal on a 3 channel can I use that for just the abs?

Thanks.

If you want to keep abs on a 4 channel car you need the sensors at each rear wheel.
There's a lot of good info in the FAQ at the top:

16. Will a 3 channel rear end work in my 4 channel car?

Yes, you can make it work, if you put the axles from your four channel car into the 3 channel rear end and install the sensors into the backing plate. To put a 4 series into a 3 series would be more difficult, because it would require you to drill in the top of the rear housing for the sensor, and add a reluctor ring to the carrier as well.
