Default Dana or 12 Bolt

I have a 99 Z-28 M-6. Mostly stock, drive it to work daily.

Spent about $500 in stock rear end and it still howls like a dog and leaks like a pig. If I keep this thing, Dana or 12-Bolt. Car is stock all the way down to the exhaust.

Looking for low noise, easy to install, and bullet-proof.

I know this has been asked many times, but looking for folks who have done this, and I simply want to place a phone call and have it show up on my door in a week.

So, Dana 60 ot 12 Bolt.

I got the Strange S60 - Dana 60 for my car because it's indestructable with 35 spline axles and a 9 3/4" ring gear. The only drawback is the weight, the Dana 60 is by far the heavest of all the rears, but I love mine.

There is one other draw back to the 60. Extremely limited gear sets available. Mine has been really good to me. Just wish I could get a 3.23 or even a 3.08ish gear for it. Stuck at 3.55.

The weight thing is actually beneficial IMO. It's unsprung weight right on the back tires. That's the best kind.

Add me to the happy dana guys. Strange pretty sure went to OEM gears to get quiet ones. At least in some ratios.
I have 3.54 . Snappy off boost and still fine on boost. My dana has no noticeable accel whine a bit of decel whine. Not too bad at all. No problems at all with it . Went in easy and its been working fine. Did change out back cover to TA cover.

Wasn't worried about weight,wanted strength.
