28 spline 8.8 swap
Im planning to swap an 8.8 into my car soon im trying to do it as cheap as possible for this year and switching over to 31 spline axles and carrier next year.
My question is does anyone have any info on swapping a mustang 28 spline rear end into a camaro while using the stock 10 bolt 28 spine axles in the setup to save money?

yes your stock 28 spline axles will work with the 28 spline ford posi, and for abuse I know a few mustang guys that have gone 10.0 on stock mustang axles but that is a lighter car.

when u go t o 31 spline you can get a carrier out of a wrecked v8 explorer. they have 31 splines stock. but the stock 28spline ford axles will handle some abuse. i'm using ranger axles in mine and there still intact

well not much going on with the swap so far so yes its been really easy. We cut the axel tubes off the 8.8 and the 10 bolt. Then I bought some round stock and made a pair of sleeves for them and now I'm having a guy setup my new gears and then it'll come together for final welding. We also made a nice torque arm bracket that we can set with the rear up in the car and then final weld that on. I'm hoping to have it done and in the car before the fall.
