Default Clunking sound in rear...

It's been doing it for about three weeks . It only happens in first gear when I release the clutch and get rolling. I haven't changed the diff. fluid since I've had the car(19,600 miles) and it has 47,300 miles on it now. Do you think a simple diff. fluid change would stop the noise? Could the fluid level be low?
