Default Leaky 10 Bolt

The car's been sitting awhile and I've noticed the rear end has been leaking.
It was sealed up with a paper gasket and copper RTV.
Anyone have something better? If there are rubber gaskets out there, like for trans or oil pans, do they work just as well?

Try sealing it with Permatex Ultra Black or Permatex "Right Stuff". I don't believe the copper is designed for oil resistance or for use on transmissions/diffs, which could be the reason for it leaking.

Johnny, I have had nothing but terrible luck with that copper ****. I refuse to put it on anything else I have to seal up. I finally realized this after several things leaked while using it. Ultra Black is all I use now with a perfect track record. Its time for some fresh fluid anyway
