Oops. I'm thinking of the transmission, it needs 4 quarts. TWO quarts of gear fluid for the rear-end. It's the only thing I use Royal Purple in. Definitely get a new gasket, hell it's only a couple bucks.

Definitely pick you up a Haynes/Chilton book. They have everything on basic maintenance.

This site here will walk you through it. http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/fbody/lubeoil.htm You can use the two quarts and diff additive, or just two quarts with additive included like Royal Purple. Your choice.

Hope things went well if you've tried it yet. Let us know if not.

I am also having the same issue as the guy above but I get a clicking like noise on my left side and sometimes at low speeds from when I first take off. Any ideals?
