Default bearings or axle

well my 10 bolt start making a loud screeching noise the other day. and now its grinding and the pass rear wheel seems bound up. the noise is from the outside of the axle. not in the center section. could it be the axle bearings? wheel bearings? or is the axle damaged?

cant tell from your discription.. but id say wheel bearing,,just a wild guess.. but no matter what you need to drop the diff cover and see whats going on,, that should tell you whats going on... i thought mine was coming from the outside too.. but it was the pinion bearing went bad.. look for leaks anywhere fist,, and then take the diff cover off... and hope for no chunks falling out when you open it up...lol good luck

If it is an axle bearing you will damage the axle if you continue to drive it. Check it out sooner than later.

idk...I took everything off and all looks fine. it wouldn't make the noise with the wheel off.
