I have a 6spd 2000 LS1 and when I went to a 9" I gave my buddy my old driveshaft for his 5.3 auto swap into a 94 camaro. It fits just fine, but he has custom motor and trans mounts. So in this situation the leingth difference (if there is one) would be negligible.
