Default Gear Advice

Hey guys I am looking at switching out the gears in my car for something a little more track friendly.

The car:
98 Z28 TTOP ~3600lb
347cui LS1
360 TQ @ 5000
430 HP @ 7000
NLU 5K Stall
10 bolt 3.42 gears
26x11.50x16 M&H slicks
Best N/A Pass 11.829 @ 114.1 1.65 60ft
Best Nitrous Pass 11.21 @ 122 1.62 60ft (different converter)

Im looking at moving to either 3.73 , 4.10 or 4.30 gears. I'd like to try to get the car to at least 11.50 on motor. The only street driving the car generally sees is 5 miles to and from the track so that is not an issue.

I have yet to find a solid basis for gear change in relation to ET, ie. moving from 3.42 to 3.73 =.2 drop, but seeing as my motor is all top end I would think this could only help ET. However, I did find a few sites that lead me to believe their is no need to change the gears at all, such as if ETxMPH=1335+/-15 no change needed.

Any input would be appreciated.

I would not go higher than a 4.11 for 1/4 mile track.. swapping from your 3.42 to a 4.10 is gonna help your 60ft. times period, dont care what any calculator says, as long as the car has the power to pull on the big end your et will improve,,.
