Default Help me spec out a new Rear end.

When I first blew up the sock rear end, I found a built 10 bolt. One with a locker and some 4.10s well now thats toast, I need a real rear end. My car with heads and cam made 350rwhp through the 4l60e. Thats also on the way out and will be putting in a th400 and adding a nitrous outlet plate kit. Yall think I will be fine with just a spool? The car only drives around 30 miles every week so not worried about anything just price. Also what gear would yall suggest, a 3.55?

I drive all over the place with a spool and the guy that welds all our rearends and suspension items runs a spool and 17" wheels with a t-56. He has had just about every differential out there and preferred the spool. He said he will probably go back to a Strange S-Trac now once spring hits. We used his car to test one for the past couple of years also with street driving plus drag racing.

As far as gear ratio it will depend on tire size also and some other factors. I wouldn't think you would go any lower than a 3.70 though.

I think the tallest tire being lowered is a 26.0 correct? So stick to a 3.73 more or less?

I've driven a lot of F Bodies on the street with spools, and have not had any problems with them. Most of my driving is rural and highway though, if you were driving mostly city streets you may not want one. Check out this shipped price. http://shop.brutespeed.com/Moser-9-I...with-Spool.htm Bob

It depends on how low you are really. As for gear ratio it really depends on what you are doing with the car. If you are looking at cruising it a ton at highway speeds you are going to want a 3.50 possibly.
