I am putting an 8.8 in my 5.3 s10 with a t76 turbo that's going to make around 500 whp and I'm not sure what gears to run in a turbo car. It's going to be street driven alot but taken to the track alot also. It should weigh around 3200 pounds. Th400, 2800 stall, 28" tall tire, and run in 1/4 mile only. I'm stuck between 3.08-3.55 ratios. Can't pick! Thanks

Going with 3.27's. I hated my 3.73's in my cutlass without overdrive so I'm going as low as I can but not so low that it's doggy off the line and because the turbo likes the load the 3.27's will make

any reason for the th400? why not a 4l60e or a 4l80e youll get overdrive and be able to hold up to the same power along with controling every aspect of the tranny. then you could run what ever gear you wanted and not spin rpms driving around

Already have a th400 in my truck for a few reasons. Around here, they are generally cheaper to build than any other tranny, they are about a 100lbs less than an 80e wet, and it was really easy to get a hold of the 400. If I did have an 80e though, I would be doing 3.55's but 3.27's aren't too far off and will work good for turbo, or so I hear. Thanks for the input
