Default how hard to change out gears??

i was just wondering how hard it is to change out gears?? everyone is charging an arm and a leg for them, like 650 for gears and install...

i just did my motor and just wondering how much harder-easier it is than that?? because if my 4.10's i want to put in and they break (most likely they will) i want to be able to change them out and not pay another 400 bucks again...

thanks

it's really not that hard to do. if your just swaping gears, If your changing bearings you'll need some more tools. But basicly if you could find some "how to's" instuctions you can walk yourself through it. just set back lsh correct .008-.0012, pinion pre load is very important 25-35 inch pounds{w/ new bearings} 15-20 with used bearings {need a pinion tool to do correct} and paint your ring gear after install and check
