30 spline with spool what gears?
I am picking up a 30 pline 12 bolt with spool and 3.73 gears. What carrier would they be? Series 4?
I want to pick up a set of 4.10 or 4.33 gears but need to know what is the carrier
The owner thinks they are 4 series but isnt positive.
thanks
Chris

I would *think* that the spool would be a series 4, and the gears would be thin.
I have both series 3 and series 4 gears at home, and the 3 are noticeably thicker on the ring gear. By about 3/8" or so.
If you can measure the thickness of your ring gear, I can measure the ones I have laying around, and we can tell.

OK, here we go.
4-series gear ring gear is 1.00" thick on the outer edge, 1.25" thick on the inner edge
3-series gear ring gear is 1.20" thick on the outer edge, 1.45" thick on the inner edge
