So i started to peel the old gasket off of the diff. cover, and notice that there are TWO....ive never had a leak on from the rear, Dan Perkins Chevy only gave me one gasket though, is this a mistake from someone else having 2 gaskets on or should i go back to Chevy and get a second gasket??? Need response asap. Chevy's closing soon. Thankyou!

sounds like you got a free one. I've always used red RTV silocone instead of the gasket on my cover. I don't know about the other guys here.

Last time I used a gasket with a thin layer of RTV as well just for insurance. It held up fine.
