Default Rear end

I need some help verifying if the rear end on a 02 z28 is the same as an 01 ss. On the ss one if I turn one wheel forward the other one goes the same way. On the z28 they go opposite so I just want to make sure its a posi.

02 Z28s' and 01 SSs' got posi. The 02 Z28 has a Torsen posi, the 01 SS,which would have started out form the factory with a Torsen posi sounds like it was replaced at SLP with an Auburn posi. Auburn was a SLP option.

So if its a torsen or auburn it should still be posi right. Is there anything I should look for if I open it up.

broken pieces, but on the serious side,Auburns wear out when mileage gets high.
At about 120,000 miles, the Auburn 'cones' on my rear were showing wear that I considered nearing the end of their serviceability,at 170,000 it's still going strong, but I expect to be replacing it soon.

They guy I'm getting it from said the camaro it came from only had 56k on it. But I know to check on broken pieces in there. Also is there any way check on wear on the carrier by just turning it with my hand.

turning the carrier by hand will only be rotating the carrier and pinion bearings.
