9'' Center Section Removal?
I'm looking to do a gear swap on my Moser 9''. I'm going to have someone do the gear swap for me on the center section, but I can save a good amount of labor costs by bringing them the center section. I've never done it before and wanted to know if someone could explain how you do it. Is it as easy and lifting the car, draining the housing, removing wheels/brakes, removing 4 bolts that hold the bearing retainer plates, slide the axles out, and then un bolt the center section? Then just reinstall in reverse? Any advice or explanation would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

Thanks for the fast reply! Couldn't really find any guides online and I've never done it before.
Do I need to grease the axle bearings or anything when reinstalling?

The chunk is heavy and will not easily come out. You'll need a pry bar and it's best to have a bud to help. Axles may need some slide hammer assistance too, depending on how long/what conditions they've been in. Most aftermarket bearings are sealed and shouldn't need lube...

install new axle seals with the right tool.get a new gasket for the center section.use silicone on the out side of the bearings ,and use it on the center section studs.make sure to use silicone on the splines of the pinion, when mounting the yoke.
