Driveshaft Removal/Install
Hey,
Is there a good write up somewhere for removing/re-installing the driveshaft to put a loop in? I'm drawing a blank on the whole U-joint thing... I know, I'm retarded... I tried a search, but got a bunch of nonsense. Thanks in advance! Ben

There are only 4 bolts that hold the rear u joint on the rear end yoke. You will need an 11mm box end wrench. Remove those bolts and the 2 straps. will probably have to use a screwdriver to pry the u joint out of the yoke. The driveshaft will then just pull out of the tranny. Don't overtighten the bolts when reinstalling. Pay attention how tight they are when removing them and just snug them up pretty good on the reinstall.

Do I need to support the rear diff when taking the driveshaft out? Should I use thread lock when putting the bolts back in? I'm gonna look under the car again for those bolts... Thanks! Ben

OK, I took the stinkin driveshaft out, torque arm out and loosened the exhaust. The stupid loop still doesn't fit. I'm about ready to build my own loop and have it welded in cuz this is irritating...
