it's the initial shock or sudden burst of all that tq and power

for the most part racing from a roll will equal less broken parts,
either that or have good feel for clutch control

i did this in 2001, on my '99 ss. pulled out and took left onto main road, straightened out, doing about 15 mph in first gear foot not even on clutch pedal anymore. put foot down on gas, got some acceleration then none, engine rev'd from about 3000 to 5000 quickly at which point let off on gas thinking what now.... then boom ton of noise and grinding. rear wheels basically lock up around 30 mph and i pull over to the shoulder.
car was completely stock.

I've heard absolute nightmares with the 10 bolts. Stock cars blowing them up and cars with 500rwhp having no issues. Most likely, like everyone has stated, depends on your driving style. I personally have had no issues with the 10 bolt and I drive like a dick.... I am just counting the days and saving my dollars for a new drivetrain though

Kick the stock stamped steel torque arm to the garbage. I did the lower control arm relocation brackets with some non-adj UMI lowers, new adjustable torque arm and panhard, always a good start. Control the torque.

Hope and pray is about all you can do. I have seen them break on nittos behind a bolt on car but I have also seen a 4.10 10 bolt last behind a 500+ whp 383 LS6 with a 6 speed leaving from the limiter every pass on et streets. These were wheels up launches too. Ran mid to high 10s. He ran an entire season like that, pulled the 10 bolt and the 12 bolt he put in place broke the very next track outing. Sold the 10 bolt in running condition to someone else who never broke it.

Just save your money and don't drive it too hard. I don't dig race my car and I try to keep my hard 1-2 shifts to a minimum.
