98 chevy axle swap + motor swap help

98 chevy axle swap + motor swap help So what has happened is i have a 98 Chevy K1500 Z71 with 5.7/350 and it has 205K miles on it. I have a parts truck that is a 99 Chevy K1500 Z71 with a 5.3/325(LM7).
Both trucks have a 4L60E trans. and everything is stock. They are both 4WD.
My question is, Can my GT4 3.73 axle be put in to my 98 chevy with 3.73 gears? The reason for doing this is so i can upgrade to the disk brakes.
Also if anyone has any helpful tips on the motor swap i would be very happy to hear them.
Also if i do the motor swap can i use a tuner like a Bullydog?
I do have a good amount of mechanical experience and am by no means "new" to repairing vehicles, But I am fairly new to performance swaps and upgrades.
If i posted this in the wrong area i am sorry.. and the reason for asking instead of using google, which i did google alot of info. but some people just dont seem to have any idea.. or I'm not looking in the right area.
