Planning my 8.8 swaplet me know if i'm missing anything
So I've been reading a ton about this and heres what I'm thinking.
Start with a 373 or 411 posi out of a ranger ( reason being I want to use my 28 spline axles )
Cut my 10 bolt tubes at the pumpkin and have them milled to fit inside the 8.8
Use the Hiltsy TA mount along with a jegster (or similar ) short TA with a tunnel mount
Have it all welded by a pro
My questions are:
1) Will I need to use a crossover type u joint?
2) As long as I setup the axle tubes at the same angle as the ten bolt my pinion angle should be the same ? Right? Or does this come into play when welding the hiltsy mount? If so, how do I properly locate the mount? Are there detailed instructions with it or is it fairly self-aligning as it can only sit at certain spots on the 8.8?
3) Is the pinion center (or offset) the same on my stock rear as the ranger rear?
Let me know what you guys think, your input is always appreciated
I've been reading about this a lot, just wanna make sure I got it right
THX!

I used a Precision 355 U-Joint to adapt the stock driveshaft to the Exploder 8.8, but I'm not sure if that will work for the Ranger 8.8. Either way your driveshaft will work, it's just a matter of finding the correct U-Joint. Before you remove the axle tubes from the 10-bolt I'd mark them to orient the tube with the rear face of the housing. Then just make sure you match that orientation with the 8.8 housing.
