I checked their website, and they have a few on there, but looking to get $200 for them. From what I've been seeing, people are getting them for a lot cheaper than that. Guess I need to take a day and go to a couple junk yards.

200 isn't terrible. But I never research prices for them. Maybe haggle with them a bit.

Yeah, they may work with me on the price. They had a several of the rears with the 3.73 rear gears; none with 4.10's though. The cost I'll have into the rear will be purchasing the 8.8 and 3rd gen axle tubes, shipping them to Oklahoma, $600 for the labor of building the rear, and then the cost to have the completed rear shipped to me.

I built my 8.8 a couple years ago but I got my rear from Quick-Pick for $75. Make sure you get the companion flange from the driveshaft too.

Thanks for the advice. Once I find one, I'll be calling Josh (TNT Performance) and going over everything again. I just want to make 100% sure I have everything I need for him to do the build, and then once it gets to me, it will bolt right in.

Forgot to add in the cost of axles, which is about $325.00, so add that to the $600.00.

How much will you have in it? Hell a MWC housing and axle package is pretty good price. Then you piece together a 3rd member. I know a couple of guys have done it pretty affordable.

How affordable? $600 labor plus $325 for axles puts me at $925. That is without the cost of the junk yard 8.8 and the 3rd gen axle tubes (could use my existing axle tubes, but I want a narrowed rear). I would like to think that an 8.8 and 3rd gen axle tubes could be had for $150 or less, then shipping them to the guy and having the rear shipped back should be no more than $250, so total for everything would be $1,325.

Well little more than that. Seen it done for under 2 grand. But the biggest thing is to find a good used 3rd member case since factory ford cases are weak.

I spoke with Josh too. I think I'm going this route. Already located a rear for $150 and I will cut up my current 10 bolt for axle tubes. I have a spare 10 bolt going in my car in the mean time with 3.23's so I can sell that to recoup some money as well. I'm just unsure if you can run c clip eliminators with the 10 bolt axle tubes.

Can you explain c clip eliminators for me? I know next to nothing about rear-ends.

C-clips hold the axle in place inside the pumpkin area, if you broke a axel the wheel and axel will come off and out of the housing= no good. You want clip eliminators for sure. Video to show you how much fun it wouldn't be

I'm guessing Josh takes care of all of that, but need to go over all the fine details before I go through with it. He said all he needs from the buyer is the 8.8 and the 4th or 3rd gen axle tubes, and he takes care of the rest. Ships it back to you and it's 100% ready to bolt in. I think an adapter is needed to mate the drive shaft to the rear, but he gives you the part number needed. Again, this is all new to me. I'm just trying to get a strong rear built at the most economical cost to me. I think this upgrade is going to be one of the best upgrades I've ever made. I want to be able to beat on this thing and not worry about the glass jaw rear breaking.

Well, you saw the video. Lol. Basically I don't want that happening. With my potential power level and moser 31 spline axles I doubt that I would break an axle. I just don't want to find out.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you should get a set of LCA relocation brackets. Josh said he would weld them on for free.

Are those necessary? Will they be different with the rear being narrowed 3"?

If you plan to track the car they are. They offer more adjustability and a better LCA angle to eliminate wheel hop and launch the car better. If you have aftermarket LCA's they are a must. For $80 and to have Josh weld them on while he's fabbing the rear it was a no brainer for me.
