Default Question on Narrowed rear 3" per side

Will my stock locations have to be relocated if I get a rear narrowed 3" ?

Looking at doing a 8.8 rear since I can't afford 3k for a rear end from anyone that makes one.

Stock locations for what? Narrowing it 3" will just shorten the axle tubes/axles and keep everything else the same as far as locations go.

Mines narrowed 3" on each side and everything still bolted up fine. The only obvious thing you will need to change is the wheels.
