Default another 8.8 question

Ive got one out of an explorer, and I've seen comments about using 2 right side axle tubes rather than leaving it the way it is, why is this?

The driver's side Exploder axle is about 30.5" long so using 2 of them you can put together a slightly narrowed rear and have a wide wheel lip. Stock axles are about 32".....

Sorry - I noticed you said "right-side" - the Exploder right axle is ~ 27.6" long so you're looking at a pretty narrow rear using two of them. Add the 7/8" x-pin and 1/4" per side for the rotors and the wheel-to-wheel dimension is about 56.5"

If you use the Exploder brakes and wheels to fit. You'd just narrow or re-tube one side of the housing to use the same length axle.
