How Do You Stop A Small Leak From The DIff Cover?
Hello,
Yesterday I just installed my torsen 10 bolt rear end in my '99 T/A (out of a M6 Camaro SS). We put everything back together but today I went to the gas station and I noticed that I have a small gear leak. Before we put it on we didn't use a gasket but I don't remember the name of the gasket sealer we used to cover it up.
My question is do I need to use a gasket for the diff cover and using RTV Ultra Black silicone sealant to stop the leak?
'99 T/A A4
Thanks,
LTX_Alex

Both sides of the gasket or the gasket & the cover? When you say let it sit for 45 minutes do you mean before I bolt it back up? I'm sorry for the dumb questions, I'm just trying to have a better understanding to be sure of what I'm doing.

Put the sealant on the cover then lay the gasket on there.
Then put a little sealant on the other side of the gasket.
So you have sealant on both sides of the gasket. Bolt it back up but don't tighten it down, just get it finger tight and let it set up for 45 min.
After that torque it down and let it set overnight and you should be good to go
Then put a little sealant on the other side of the gasket.
