Default 2000 WS6 Bearing Kit?

I know that there are many different kits that include all the bearings for rebuilding the stock 10 bolt on. I am seeing that most of the kits have a cut off year of 1999.

I need a kit with all the bearings, as well as the wheel/axle bearings/seals.

Ratech has the 3001k kit, but it's listed somewhere up to 199x. I would prefer Timken or comparable bearings.

I saw Motive Gear makes one as well, but year seems to be the same factor, as well as Richmond.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I know the 10 bolt is just. This is an m6 car with 54k miles, 440rwhp. I have someone willing and experienced that wants to teach me how to rebuild. I don't have the money for a 12 bolt or other alternative right now so I'd rather rebuild and milk the 10 bolt for another couple years.

Thanks!

Maybe thats when they went to the Torsen diff. It might use a slightly different ID carrier bearing than the older Auburn unit but Im not sure on that one. Whats wrong with your current rear that requires a rebuild?

Just to verify, your profile 'about me' indicates a 1979 Trans Am,but you're asking about a 2000 WS6. The bearing/rebuilding kits for the GM 7.625(and GM 7.5) 10 bolts applies for up to 2002. The kits with the Timkens are the preferred ones.
Axle bearing/seal kits are also common for up to 2002. The only axle bearing kit to avoid are the ones that are termed as 'axle savers'.
What part of NE Ohio are you at ? I've been rebuilding the little GM 10 bolts for a long time.

It's howling pretty bad, I can't stand it.

I'm in Salem Ohio

Yes, it's a 2000 WS6. LS1, T56, 10 bolt.

Essentially what you're saying is that any kit that lists a 10 bold 7.625, will fit?
Such as the Richmond 831044M

Let me explain a little about the 10 bolt. Back when it came out around like 1980, there was a year or two where the pinion bearing was a different size. Then around 1982 or whatever they changed it. The bearings stayed the same the rest of the life of the 10 bolt. Im not up on truck (astro, s-10, etc) but in fbodies the seals stayed the same EXCEPT the pinion bearing seal in late 01 and 02. I've seen early 01s have the early seal. All kits have the old style pinion seal, if your car is mid 01 - 02 or the end of production for fbody, you MUST purchase that one seal separate. That's why they have the year cutoff the way they do. Ratech 3001k is the one you need, and 01/02 will need to buy the seal afterwards because the kit will come with the early model seal.

Thanks! I may go with the Richmond kit over Ratech.
